Flatten
Flatten explores how artistic practices adapt from 3D to 2D. Sculptors have the freedom to experiment and create large works with the help of tools and studio space after graduation. However, maintaining a sculptural practice after graduation presents many challenges, resulting in simplifying their artistic practices and creating artwork that can be hung on a wall. In this exhibit, eight emerging artists who were trained as sculptors boldly “flatten” their practice by embracing the process of metaphorically steamrolling their art.
